No. 4 Envisioning with God

This year I want to be excited about the days, opportunities and small moments that the Lord has already made. I want to have a vision so encamped in the Kingdom of God that every single detail of this year is divine. I wanted to invite the NNAY family on this journey too. What would the year look like in my own heart, and the hearts of Gods beloved, if we genuinely expected him to move on our behalf? This is for every area of life:

  1. Spiritual

  2. Family

  3. Social

  4. Physical

  5. Work

Let’s shift our focus from “not dead yet” to ALIVE, “not sick right now” to THRIVING, “in a better head space” to RENEWED, “need to loose weight” to I HAVE A BODY THAT MOVES and “haven’t had time” to I HAVE A PLAN. Just a few examples to the importance of our words and what we are preaching to ourself every day and how they affect our outward life.

'Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord , my rock and my redeemer.' -Psalm 19:14

I prefer to use the word “vision” because I feel like “goals” is over used and underperformed - which leads to a lot of lost and shameful people when we get around to March and have already given up completely. Having a vision is moldable and a path forward but not steps that need to be completed. It allows God to truly steer and us to surrender our plans and hopes to his wisdom. To be like the children he calls us to be in Matthew 18:4:

'and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. '

Pslam 27 is where I am going to encamp my vision for the five areas listed above. Specifically verse 4:

' One thing have I asked of the Lord , that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. '

I want him to be the one thing of my heart, mind, soul and movement. By setting my mind on him, I just know my faith and believe will increase in every area of my life. Also verses 13 and 14:

'I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord ; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!'

I am intentionally setting my mind to see the goodness of the Lord and not the brokenness of this world. I will wait on him even when my flesh wants to run or hide (maybe both at the same time)!

I encourage you to go read Psalm 27 in its entirety and sit with the Lord. Seek his guidance on the 5 areas of life listed above. Personally, I do 2-3 bullet point ideas for each category to keep it concise and simple.

An important step I think we get too caught up to remember is to reflect back monthly, even weekly, on your list. See what needs adjusting or where you might have gotten too hyper focussed and lost sight of other areas.

This is going to be an amazing year of increase, in the name of Jesus!

I hope you got something hopeful out of this message… Love you guys!
